Author
B.M. Smith (1811-1893; MDiv, DD, LLD, Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, VA) was the first library of Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA, where is also taught as Professor of Oriental Literature after serving in several pastorates in the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America. He is recognized as having saved the Seminary from financial ruin following the War Between the States, and he served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States in 1876. He authored Commentary on Psalms and Proverbs; An Introduction to Poetical Books of the Old Testament; and Questions on the Gospel, in addition to this book.
