“The crying need is for faithful, Word-centered pastors and teachers. God is at work preparing the next generation to proclaim Jesus Christ.” These words by Dr. Jonathan L. Master (President, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary) close our newly released video, To Proclaim Jesus Christ. For over thirty years, Greenville Seminary’s faculty and Board of Trustees have been committed to meeting this need, by the grace of God. After a year marked by significant developments on-campus, the Seminary’s vision, mission, values, and mandate have not changed.
To capture the Seminary’s enduring commitment to being biblically grounded, pastorally focused, and confessionally faithful, we have partnered once again with the good folks over at Bartlett Productions for a new video highlighting the nature of our faculty’s ministry and our students’ experiences. We are thankful to our friends Dr. Richard D. Phillips (The Second Presbyterian Church of Greenville, SC) and Pastor Peter Van Doodewaard (Covenant Community Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Taylors, SC) for appearing in this video alongside of Dr. Master, Dr. McGraw, Mr. Morales, Dr. Pipa, and a number of our resident students. We thank Greenville Presbyterian Church (Taylors, SC), Covenant Community Orthodox Presbyterian Church (Taylors, SC), The Second Presbyterian Church of Greenville, Falls Park (Greenville, SC), and the Limoncello Italian Restaurant (Greenville, SC) for allowing us to film on-location.
At one point in the video, Dr. Morales observes, “Because of our size, we really get to know one another well. We have this camaraderie of brothers who are pursuing a similar goal.” One of our goals for this video was to capture and showcase this dynamic of our fellowship in Christ.
We hope that friends of the Seminary will watch this video and take encouragement, assured that our commitment to the spiritual formation of Christ-exalting gospel heralds remains unwavering. At the same time, we hope that this video will complement existing resources to give prospective students and their pastors a window into the Seminary community.
