Reformation Bible College (RBC) in Sanford, FL and Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (GPTS) in Taylors, SC are pleased to announce a new cooperative partnership, offering an accelerated six-year Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree.
Seminary-bound students will be able to complete both undergraduate and graduate degrees in the space of six years, thus speeding up entry into pastoral ministry. This partnership not only benefits the students who will take advantage of it, but it also benefits the church at-large as more men are brought more efficiently into pastoral ministry, without compromising a rigorous theological education and training.
Students will complete three years at RBC and then have the opportunity to continue their education at GPTS, taking the full complement of the three-year M.Div. program. GPTS agrees to accept RBC students who meet the Seminary’s admissions requirements and have completed 90 undergraduate credits in the Accelerated Biblical Studies Degree. RBC students would then complete the remaining 30 required credits of their undergraduate program while making progress toward an M.Div. at GPTS.
This partnership is the culmination of a shared commitment of RBC and GPTS. Each institution will benefit from opportunities for coordination of resources, shared faculty teaching and speaking engagements, and other partnership possibilities. RBC students are invited to take advantage of the arrangement beginning with the Fall 2018 semester.
Over the past six years, we at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary have rejoiced in the work of God taking place at Reformation Bible College (RBC) in Sanford, Florida. We have also enjoyed the privilege of welcoming into our student body graduates of the College. Our respective faculties share confessional commitments and a vision for Christian education. Now, we are able more closely to partner together to advance Christ’s Kingdom by equipping Christians – and for us, Christian preachers – with the tools they need to bring biblical truth to every corner of the globe. We hope to accept many more men from RBC who aspire to the high and noble calling of pastoral ministry, and this new partnership will clear the way for such men to enter into their callings in earnest. We are thrilled to be able to share our faculty with students of the College, and we look forward to welcoming visiting professors from RBC in the years to come. May God bless this new arrangement, even as He has blessed Dr. Sproul’s and Ligonier’s labors over these past several years. – Dr. Joseph A. Pipa, Jr. PhD, DD
There are not many things more urgent and important than theological education and the training of ministers. We are excited about this new partnership with Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in this vital calling. Our two institutions have a shared commitment to the authority of God’s Word and upholding the Reformed confessions, providing the necessary biblical and theological instruction for faithful and effective pastoral ministry. This new accelerated degree means students will be able to enter ministry one year sooner and with one full year less of expenses. We are grateful for GPTS and its sterling reputation as one of the leading Reformed seminaries, and look forward to God’s blessing on this partnership in the years to come. – Dr. Stephen J.
