On Thursday, March 15, 2018, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will hold the annual Spring Scholarship Banquet in honor of Dr. Joseph A. Pipa, Jr.’s 20 Years of Service to the Seminary as President and Professor of Historical & Systematic Theology.
The Banquet will be held at the Pearis Ballroom of the Commerce Club in downtown Greenville, SC. All proceeds will benefit our Student Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to students enrolled in Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s Divinity program.
Dr. Pipa has served in the PCA since its founding in 1973, and has pastored churches in Mississippi, Texas, and California. He has taught at Westminster Theological Seminary, Westminster Seminary California, and at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He was a staff-member for Great Commission Publications, was instrumental in the formation of Reformed University Fellowship, and has actively participated in the courts of the church as a faithful churchman for decades.
One of the core values of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is affordability, which is clearly seen in a favorite saying of Dr. Pipa’s: “We want our men to graduate with a burden for the lost, not a burden of debt.” Generous support from faithful donors and supporting churches allow us to keep our tuition rates low so that our students can focus on their studies, families, and local church involvement. Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary is delighted to honor Dr. Pipa’s prolific ministry by hosting this Spring Scholarship Banquet in celebration of his service to the Seminary and Christ’s church.
Tickets are $50/plate, and there will be an opportunity to give to the Scholarship Fund at the Banquet. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Scholarship Fund. Information on how to RSVP is available at www.gpts.edu/banquet, or by contacting the Advancement Office at advancement@gpts.edu. Ω
