The Pastor: His Call, Character, and Work

Rev. Dr. David Gilbert (DMin, Reformed Theological Seminary) is a native of Douglasville, GA. He came to Christ during his senior year at Clayton State University and soon discerned a call to the ministry. After earning his M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, he was called to serve as Assistant Pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in Yazoo City, MS. He then served as Senior Pastor from 2007 until accepting the call to Grace Presbyterian in Douglasville. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of Preaching at GPTS. Pastor David and his wife, Michelle, have four daughters.

Rev. Dr. Ian Hamilton is an Associate Minister in the Free Church of Scotland, an adjunct professor at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and Westminster Seminary, UK and serves as a trustee for GPTS. For many years he served on the board for the Banner of Truth Trust, and as Editor of the Magazine. He served as the minister of Loudoun Church of Scotland from 1979-1999 and as the minister of Cambridge Presbyterian Church from 1999-2016. He and his wife Joan have four children and six grandchildren.

Terry L. Johnson has served as senior minister of the Independent Presbyterian Church in Savannah, Georgia since 1987. He was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. As an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, he began to grow spiritually and over time sense a call to the gospel ministry. This led to two years at Trinity College, Bristol, England (an Anglican theological college), two years at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and ordination in the Presbyterian Church in America. Terry is the author/compiler of the Trinity Psalter, Leading in Worship, The Case for Traditional Protestantism, Reformed Worship, and many others. He and Emily have five children.

Rev. Dr. Jonathan. L. Master (PhD, University of Aberdeen) serves as President of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Dr. Master served in pastoral ministry in several congregations in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and subsequently as Dean and Professor of Theology at Cairn University near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has taught for numerous other institutions including Westminster Seminary (UK) and Edinburgh Theological Seminary. Dr. Master is the author and editor of books including A Question of Consensus: The Doctrine of Assurance After the Westminster Confession (Fortress Press, 2015), The God We Worship (P&R, 2016), On Reforming Worship (Covenant Publications, 2018), Growing in Grace (Banner of Truth, 2020), Reformed Theology (P&R, 2023), and You Must Be Born Again (P&R, 2024). He contributes regularly to a variety of periodicals, including Tabletalk Magazine. Dr. Master serves on the Executive Council of the Gospel Reformation Network, as well as on the Board of Directors of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, where he hosts the “Theology on the Go” podcast for the Alliance with James Dolezal.

Rev. Dr. Ryan McGraw (PhD, University of the Free State) serves as Morton H. Smith Professor of Systematic Theology. He has pastored churches in the PCA and OPC, and serves currently as Teacher at Covenant Community OPC, Taylors SC. His academic books include works on John Owen (V&R 2014; Palgrave 2017), Reformed Scholasticism (T&T Clark 2020), and Charles Hodge (V&R 2023). Aiming at the church more broadly, his passion has been to popularize devotional Trinitarian theology in numerous books such as 31 Meditations on the Trinity (RHB 2023) and What is Covenant Theology? (Crossway 2024). Editing and contributing to several journals, he and Joel Beeke are co-editors of the Cultivating Biblical Godliness series.

Rev. Dr. Jeff Stivason is a gifted preacher and teacher and a compassionate shepherd and has been serving the Lord as a minister of the gospel since 1995. During that time, he has planted two churches, the most recent one being Grace RP Church, which formally constituted in January of 2010. He has a BA from Grove City College, an MDiv from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, an STM from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and a PhD from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia). He also serves as Professor of New Testament Studies at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

A. Craig Troxel (PhD, Westminster Theological Seminary) is professor of practical theology at Westminster Seminary California. He taught systematic theology as an adjunct at Westminster Theological Seminary and ministerial studies at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. He has also served as a faculty member for the Ministerial Training Institute of the OPC since 2002 and is presently a member of the OPC’s Committee on Christian Education. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. He is the author of What is Man?, What is the Priesthood of Believers?, and With All Your Heart: Orienting Your Mind, Desires, and Will Toward Christ. He and his wife, Carol, have five children and one grandchild.

Rev. Dr. John W. Tweeddale is vice president of academics and professor of theology at Reformation Bible College. He is also a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, a visiting scholar at Queen’s University Belfast, and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He currently chairs the candidate’s committee of the Central Florida Presbytery (PCA) and the Scottish Church History and Theology study group of the Evangelical Theological Society. He previously served as senior associate editor of Tabletalk magazine, as senior pastor of First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, and as an adjunct professor at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He earned his M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss., and his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is author of John Owen and Hebrews and coeditor of John Calvin: For a New Reformation and the T&T Clark Handbook of John Owen.

Rev. Dr. Carlton Wynne is an ordained teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He served as a pastor in Dallas, TX, before completing a Ph.D. in systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. He then joined the theology faculty there and taught for years before moving to Atlanta, where he serves as Associate Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA). Dr. Wynne’s academic interests include trinitarian theology, apologetics, and biblical theology in the tradition of Geerhardus Vos. He is particularly interested in the integration of those areas of study and their bearing on the life of the church. He also enjoys being a husband to Linley and a father to his three sons.
